Many of these innovations for example Zero Discharge concepts were conceived, developed and delivered by Enersave and the knowledge and techniques remain not in the public domain but in Enersave.
In 1995, Enersave obtained evaporation technology license from PORIM to treat palm oil mill waste. Enersave has integrated this with shredded Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) incineration technique to design a combined solid and liquid waste treatment system to achieve Zero Waste Management System (ZWMS) for palm oil mill waste management. The dried product of this process is made into fertilizer with additives, thus yielding revenues to the owner.
Along with the increasing concern of sea disposal of seawater reverse osmosis desalination brine waste that causes adverse effects to the aquatic life and marine environment, Enersave has innovated ways to treat the brine waste and produce the recovered salt to be sold as a commodity item or feed stock for the production of Caustic Soda (NaOH). Enersave has the internal knowledge of utilizing the available resources to optimize the recovery to reduce production cost per cubic metre of seawater while solving the potable water source problem. The innovative engineering idea has gained much acceptance in water scarce cities or countries and Enersave is now working with reputable partners in PRC and Australia to implement actual seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant with brine waste recovery in sizable scale.
The Zero Discharge concept not only applicable to the palm oil industry, seawater desalination industry, but to the Pulp & Paper industry where the waste can be recovered to provide usable process water for mill process, electricity generation and valuable chemical stocks.
