JUNE 2008
UF Potable Water System for Sichuan Earthquake Victims
The 8.0-magnitude earthquake, which devastated the south-western province of Sichuan on 12 May 2008, has left many people dead or injured and millions of people homeless. Some of the environmental damages of the earthquake and subsequent landslides were immediately obvious, and are common environmental threats of earthquakes. In China, the greatest concerns are disposal of debris, ecosystem and habitat loss, water contamination, and destruction of arable land.
As an effort to help the victims in Sichuan province, Enersave Group has contributed five sets of UF systems to provide safe drinking water to the people in JinZhu, HanWang, TuMen, YuChuen and others. Every set of UF system is able to produce 150m3 of water per day, which is equivalent to the consumption of 7,500 people for daily drinking water use.
